Al Khawarizmi Institute has taught English in Lebanon since 2011, and is an authorized Cambridge and IELTS training centre. General English is the foundation. Most students then move on to a course built around a specific outcome — an exam, a job, or a university file.
- IELTS preparation — for university admission, work visas and migration files, at an authorized IELTS training centre and exam venue
- TOEFL preparation — 20 hours of intensive coaching for the test
- SAT preparation — 30 hours of comprehensive preparation for university entrance
- Cambridge English preparation — exam-format training for school students and adults
- Business English — writing, email, presentations and negotiation for working professionals
Job interview preparation
A short, targeted course for candidates who can already hold a conversation in English but freeze in the room. It covers answering common questions, handling the tricky ones, showing your strengths without overselling, and interview etiquette — with personalised feedback on how you actually come across.
Where classes run
Classes run at our three branches — Beirut (Mar Elias), the Chouf (Simkanieh) and Choueifat (Saida Old Street) — and as live Zoom groups for students elsewhere in Lebanon or abroad. Same teachers, same materials, same certificate either way.

How do I know which English level I need?
You start with a placement exam. We assess your current level in speaking, listening, reading and writing, then place you in the group that matches it rather than the one you hope you are ready for.
How long does one English level take?
Each level is 20 hours of focused learning. How many levels you need depends on where you start and where you want to reach — we tell you honestly after the placement exam.
Can I take English classes online?
Yes. The same courses run as live Zoom classes with the same teachers, and students join from across Lebanon and from Arab countries abroad.
Do you also prepare students for IELTS, TOEFL and SAT?
Yes. We run separate exam preparation courses for IELTS, TOEFL, SAT and the Cambridge English exams. If your English base needs strengthening first, we will say so before you spend money on exam training.
