Corporate Training in Lebanon — Language, Computer and Communication Courses for Teams

Al Khawarizmi Institute trains staff for companies and organisations in Lebanon, and builds the course around the job rather than the brochure. A team that needs to write to international clients, present to a board, run a design tool properly or pass an English test for a posting abroad gets a course built for exactly that. We have taught in Lebanon since 2011.

Planning training for your team? Email [email protected] or message us on WhatsApp with what the team needs to be able to do, and we will come back with a proposal.

What we can build a course around

  • Business English — emails, reports, meetings, presentations and negotiation, at the level your staff are actually at. See Business English.
  • Other languages — French, Spanish, German, Italian and Russian for teams working with partners abroad, and Arabic for non-native-speaking staff based in Lebanon.
  • Computer skills — Microsoft Office and computer essentials for administrative teams; AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Revit, 3ds Max and SketchUp for engineering and architecture teams; Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign for marketing and communications. See computer courses.
  • Communication — NLP and body language, for managers, sales teams and anyone whose job is persuading or leading people.
  • Exam preparation — IELTS or TOEFL for staff who need a score for a posting, a scholarship or a visa. We are a certified IELTS training centre and exam venue.

How a corporate course is put together

  • 1. The need. You tell us what the team has to be able to do, and by when.
  • 2. The starting point. Staff take a free written placement test (20–30 minutes) for language courses, so each person starts at their real level.
  • 3. The proposal. We propose the content, the number of hours and a schedule that fits the working week — mornings, afternoons, evenings or Saturdays.
  • 4. The sessions. Usually two a week, 1 to 2 hours each, in person at our branches or live on Zoom. Staff keep the same teacher through a level.
  • 5. The result. Language courses end each level with an exam and a certificate recognised by the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Why build it around the job

Generic courses teach generic skills, and staff notice. When an English course uses the team’s own emails, an AutoCAD course uses the kind of drawings the office actually produces, or a presentation workshop rehearses the real quarterly review, people see the point from the first session — and use what they learn the next morning. That is also how a manager can tell whether the training worked.

Online, for teams in more than one place

Training can run live on Zoom with a teacher — never recorded — so staff in different offices, or working from home, join the same course. Materials such as slides, PDFs and links are shared by WhatsApp or email, and online training costs the same as in person.

Fees

Because corporate courses are built to order, we quote each one after we understand the need and the number of staff. For reference, our group courses start from $150 per course and private lessons are charged per hour in blocks of 20 hours. Fees are quoted in US dollars, and there is no registration fee.

Where we teach

Our main branch is in Simkanieh (the Chouf), with a second branch in Aley, and every course can run live online. Enquiries are answered Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm.

Frequently asked questions

Can you build a course around our team’s specific need?

Yes. We build corporate courses around a specific workplace need rather than selling a fixed package — tell us what the team has to be able to do, and we propose the content and schedule.

Which subjects can you train staff in?

Business English and six other languages, computer skills from Microsoft Office to AutoCAD, Revit and the Adobe design tools, NLP and body language for communication, and exam preparation for staff who need an IELTS or TOEFL score.

Do staff receive certificates?

For language courses, yes — a certificate for each level completed, recognised by the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education, after an end-of-level exam.

Can training run online?

Yes. Sessions run live on Zoom with a teacher, which suits teams spread across offices or working remotely.

How do we start?

Send us the need by email or WhatsApp. We assess the staff’s starting level — the placement test is free — and come back with a proposal and a quote.
